CW: mentions of mental health struggles

This is my first post on this website. It will mostly be rambling.

I admit my decision to make this site is somewhat of an impulsive decision. I have been interested in Neocities and making my own website, but I didn't have any particular idea for a website, in part because mental health issues have made it hard to do things I enjoy. What is my website theme? What do I write, post? Should I make art, photography? Do I write about personal things or essays? What if I drop the project or forget about it? I do not have an answer and have accepted that it doesn't matter. I'll probably use this similarly to how I used to use Tumblr: thoughts, observations, doodles, and hopefully -- if I am able to -- I will write fiction and fanfiction. I've always wanted to do that, but depression has severely curbed any motivation or joy I feel and making it difficult to push through difficult things. I will probably also use this site to log my mental health.

I got a sudden burst in motivation which led to me making this site in 2-3 days! I am still unsure about the "theme", I want it to look like a kind of digital cyberpunk newspaper or magazine. I may update it in the future -- I want it to be simple and distinct.

I would like to shout out a couple people who got me into the indie web in the first place:

Magoonka, on youtube who made a comprihensive video about why you should use Neocities, how to use html and css.

Diggon, also on Youtube, and her video "the weird world of indie social media" which introduced me to the idea of the indie web.

Melonking and the Melonland forum... I guess just as general inspiration. I love browsing the forum, although I am too shy to join, I am content with lurking!

I really like badges and buttons, and making badges and buttons. I made the two below:

as you can infer, I am on the anattractional spectrum.

You can see the stamps, badges and buttons I've collected on my 'Stamps' page.

As of writing this, I have yet to make my own button.

Ultimately, I hope to 1) become more social online 2) engage in hobbies more 3) log mental health 4) practice non fiction writing. I suppose that is it for now.
